Imagine Se

“Imagine Se” – Award-Winning Participatory Art Project

“Imagine Se” is an award-winning participatory art project recognized by the Jundiaí City Council for its impact on urban awareness and cultural engagement. This project sought to challenge ingrained patterns of consumption and routine by reintroducing the city’s historical and architectural beauty to its inhabitants.

Set in a bustling commercial district, the intervention unfolded in a location where historic facades had been overshadowed by relentless consumer activity. Despite their architectural significance, these buildings remained unnoticed—lost in the daily rush of urban life.

Using simple yet powerful artistic tools—paper, paint, brushes, and live music—we created an interactive “pit stop” within the urban flow. As passersby paused, we posed a thought-provoking question: “Have you ever truly seen the beauty of our city centre?” The response was often one of surprise: “No, I haven’t. It’s strange because I walk through here every day.”

As the collective artwork took shape, it evolved into a striking visual statement—an expressive wall of protest—symbolizing the shared longing for a more human-centered city. More than an art installation, it became an act of urban reawakening, inviting people to break from the monotony of daily life and rediscover the cultural and emotional essence of their surroundings.

“Imagine Se” stands as a testament to the transformative power of art in reshaping urban narratives, encouraging reflection, and fostering a deeper connection between people and their city. Through this project, we aimed to inspire a renewed sense of place—one that values history, identity, and community over mere consumption.
