Jiu Jitsu Australia Gym

This project held great significance as it aimed to cater to the needs of the local community, instructors, students, and athletes. Gracie Barra is a renowned organisation with a presence in over 700 schools across six continents, and their franchising guidelines are known for their strict adherence to Design, colours, and layout.

With this in mind, my focus was on creating a space that not only met the functional requirements of a Jiu-Jitsu and gym facility but also reflected the values and brand identity of Gracie Barra, inspired by the master Danillo Coltro ideology. The Design needed to resonate with the global community while offering a unique and inviting environment for the Central Coast community.

Careful consideration was given to the layout, ensuring optimal flow and utilisation of space. Attention to detail was paramount, as every element needed to contribute to a harmonious and inspiring atmosphere for training and personal growth. The colour scheme and materials were chosen to align with the brand’s guidelines, creating a cohesive and recognisable aesthetic.

Collaboration with the Gracie Barra team was instrumental in understanding and translating their vision into a functional and visually appealing design. By incorporating their input and combining it with my expertise in Design and architecture, we created a space that not only fulfilled the organisation’s requirements but also resonated with the local community.

Gracie Barra Jiu-Jitsu gym on the Central Coast stands as a testament to the power of Design in creating spaces that serve a community’s needs while staying true to the principles and identity of a globally recognised organisation.
