Art Centre and Landscape – Precinct Studies

Rather than merely creating a project for human use, I explored the option of participating in this architectural competition to address critical issues and express my deep concern. The result is a thought-provoking design that combines community engagement with environmental preservation.

The building is conceived as a half-opened structure, serving both as a hub for community activities and a sanctuary for the local wildlife that has lost its natural habitat. It incorporates specific features to cater to the needs of various species, such as holes for snakes, fox burrows, tree extensions for Lion Tamarin monkeys, lodges for capybaras, and a roof designed to accommodate nests and other wildlife habitats.

The construction utilises retractable and adjustable elements to ensure flexibility and adaptability, employing Adobe techniques. It allows for a versatile space, including a stage and auditorium seating that can be reconfigured to suit different artistic performances and events.

Combining art, community engagement, and environmental stewardship, this prototype represents a compelling vision for an art centre incubator that fosters creativity while promoting conservation within the picturesque Ilhabela State Park.
