Antitheses

Antitheses was a compelling addition to a collective Art Performance exhibition at MuBE – the Sculpturing Museum of Sao Paulo, Brazil. This thought-provoking exhibition utilized art as a powerful medium to raise awareness and confront the most pressing issues of our time. The artwork is primarily visual in a museum setting, prompting fresh perspectives and contemplation on various subjects.

In a departure from the conventional visual approach, this sculpture also serves as an engaging game. Drawing inspiration from Nicolas Bourriaud’s concept of Post-production, which highlights the potential dehumanization resulting from the commodification of human relations, the artwork prompts introspection on the increasing influence of the consumer market and the possible loss of genuine human connections. Participants were invited to select a code and follow the instructions provided, fostering interactions with others and potentially contributing to saving the world from societal blindness. Antitheses provided a dynamic and immersive experience that encouraged viewers to engage actively with the artwork, fostering a deeper understanding of the critical issues it sought to address
